We’ve been really excited this week. We are active on an online community called Reddit. And every Christmas, community members sign up to participate in Secret Santa with other members. Since we’ve only been in business for less than a year, we’ve decided to make our first year a festive one by participating in Reddit’s Secret Santa!
November 26th was the date that participants were matched with their Secret Santas, and I have been jumping for joy since I think I have the perfect gift for my match. No, it is not one of our posters! Instead, it is a highly sentimental piece from the 2010 World Cup which I attended for the first time. It’s nothing expensive but it is certainly one of the most iconic items from the event. Also, I’ve gone through an extraordinary situation with it. This is perfect since the gift recipient is a mod for /r/soccer, and of course, a big fan of the sport!
‘Tis the season, everyone!

As I was lurking about on www.reddit.com I came across this fun picture involving books with “The Rise and Fall” in their titles. It seemed colorful and eye-catching, so I definitely wanted to share it! I can’t say that I’ve read any of them – not even the The Rise and Fall of Darth Vader (sorry!) – but the majority seemed pretty dry. Of course you can’t judge a book by its cover! J

We all know what it’s like to try to struggle through reading something like The Odyssey. I’m sure almost anyone who really wants to try to get through it has probably considered just listening to the audio book, but I have a double whammy for you: the audio book of The Odyssey being read by Sir Ian McKellen. Now if you don’t know who that is, just think of Gandalf from the Lord of the Rings trilogy – hopefully there are some other nerdy, die-hard fans (of these movies)like myself still left out there. Long story short, imagine listening to thirteen hours of Sir Ian McKellen’s British accent lilting the verses of The Odyssey. It sounds like the best way to get through it , especially if it’s an English assignment forced upon you by the school board. Hope you enjoy!
