The Comfort of a Dead Author

Someone commented the other day that I have an affinity for dead artists. “Not really,” was my reply “I just like dead authors”. So true…I’m sure there are plenty of readers out there who when in need of familiarity and comfort, or even when it comes to simple preference, will choose to read a book by an author who is already long gone. So I compiled a list of some of my favorite dead authors – of course if I had space the list would be much longer, but five will have to suffice! They are in no particular order and are listed with a well known work of theirs. Perhaps you will pick up some novels from one of these writers! (P.S. The photo above is of a young - and very handsome - Ernest Hemingway). :)
  1. Ernest Hemingway : The Sun Also Rises
  2. George Orwell : Nineteen Eighty - Four
  3. E.M. Forster : A Room with a View
  4. J.R.R. Tolkien : The Lord of the Rings
  5. Emily Bronte : Wuthering Heights
