Life Before Sherlock Holmes: Sir Arthur Conan Doyle in the Artic

Sir Arthur Conan Doyle is perhaps most well-known for his fantastic stories featuring a London detective named Sherlock Holmes, but many don’t know that Doyle spent time as a doctor on a whaler in the Artic during his 20th and 21st year. Luckily for us, Doyle kept a detailed journal which is going to be published! From the excerpts I have had a chance to read, it seems to be a humorous yet also dark piece of writing. I am one of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s biggest fans, so I look forward to being able to get my hands on this! :)
