Getting to Know Charles Dickens

dickens   There are few authors as beloved and well-known as Charles Dickens. This is why we decided that the best way to celebrate Dickens’ birthday, which falls on February 7th, is to release an Oliver Twist poster in commemoration of one of his most cherished works. And you know that we enjoy handing out random facts about our author of the month and his work, so here are some Dickens Details:
  1. Dickens’ was epileptic, which made it easy for him to describe in detail Monk’s epileptic fits in Oliver Twist.
  2. Oliver Twist was originally published in installments, making it a serial novel.
  3. Oliver Twist became one of the first child protagonists in literature; sounds like Dickens was a bit of a trailblazer!
  4. Dickens and author Hans Christian Andersen were great friends! It is even rumored that Andersen dedicated one of his books to Dickens.
We hope you enjoy our new poster and please let us know what you think of it! We love hearing your thoughts and opinions. :)
