The Ulysses poster is created using the first 8 chapters of the book.
This artwork celebrates Joyce’s chaotic and unconventional novel by using his unique rhetoric to create an intelligent and subtly haunting illustration. In this art print, Leopold and Stephen, deep in conversation, strive to find the meaning and purpose of their existence. These protagonists are unsure of where their lives are going, and yet find themselves unconsciously drawn forward by some invisible force; two lines in front of each character represents their inability to break away from this linear path which fate has set before them. This artwork exudes the bleak quintessence of not only these two men, but an entire generation psychologically at war with themselves.
Ulysses is a novel which offers a powerful intellectual challenge with each analytic perusal of its pages. This art print admirably embraces the concept of the search for one’s self which is so prevalent in Joyce’s book and presents it in a jaw-dropping fashion.
