Are you a short story lover? I certainly am. But at what point do you draw the line as to how short is too short? Do a few sentences count as a short story? What about a few words? If you follow author Lydia Davis, you’ll know that she takes short stories to a whole new level. And rather unexpectedly, Davis has been awarded the 2013 Man Booker Prize – which is a pretty big deal considering that at one time people didn’t bother to take her extremely short tales very seriously.
What do you think? I personally like a lot of her work – I find it witty and enjoyable to read – but there are others who wouldn’t consider it as worthy of a literary prize of this magnitude. I’d love to hear your thoughts, so feel free to share. :)
