I hope everyone got a chance to log onto Google today, because there is an amazing Google Doodle which is commemorating what would have been Maurice Sendak’s 85th birthday. If the name sounds familiar, you probably are thinking of his classic children’s story, Where the Wild Things Are, which garnered him a lot of fame after it was first published back in 1963. And although this beloved children’s book is around 50 years old, it obviously hasn’t lost any of its charm even today!
Sadly, Sendak passed away just last year, but that doesn’t mean we can’t take a moment to remember this great author and the beautifully nostalgic worlds he brought to life through his books. :)
