Are you afraid of going into your basement? Do you wake up in a cold sweat in the middle of the night because you heard a strange bump or creak? Are you terrified of getting out of bed because you’re convinced that there’s a monster under there waiting to snatch you by the ankles? If you responded yes to any of these, it seems you may have a bad case of the horror story mumps. The horror story mumps are generally provoked by too much reading of horror story masters such as: Stephen King, Edgar Allan Poe, and H.P. Lovecraft. But a bad case of the mumps isn't going to stop me from presenting some great (albeit scary) quotes from these three amazing authors. I give you: Things They Said Which Scare Us Senseless:
Oh Stephen King, how you make my heart pound -- and not in the romantic way, either.
Really Mr. Poe? Really? I already have an irrational fear of catacombs and one-eyed cats because of you. Now you're just adding fuel to the fire.
No truer words have ever been spoken. Now I know why I'm scared of things like death and my basement. Oh, and can I point out how freakishly creepy that grainy picture of Lovecraft and his cat is?
You know what's next: I want to hear from you what some of your favorite horror quotes are! Share away and Happy Month of Horror! :D
